Cochrane to host first fly fishing encounter at Lago Brown

The first Fly Fishing Encounter will take place on Saturday, October 17, at Lago Brown in the Cochrane commune. Organized by the Lacuvio Open Fly Fishing group, local businesses, and the Municipality of Cochrane, the event aims to promote nature tourism and environmental awareness.

The program includes a competitive fishing session following the catch-and-release modality. It also features educational clinics on casting techniques, Spey technique, and entomology, led by specialists such as Patricio Guerra, Juan Núñez, and representatives from Aconcagua Fly Fishing.

Cochrane Mayor Patricio Ulloa Georgia emphasized that the initiative seeks to showcase the region's natural resources, including its lakes and trout, while fostering a culture of responsible economic activity and environmental protection.
