Cockroach Cafe in Bihar's Nalanda District Becomes Viral Marketing Sensation

A newly opened eatery on the Hilsa Bypass in Nalanda district, Bihar, has attracted national attention after branding itself as the "Cockroach Cafe". The cafe opened earlier this week, offering tea, coffee, Maggi, sandwiches and cold drinks at prices comparable to nearby cafés.

The interior features a black‑themed décor with yellow hanging lights, artificial vines, rattan sofas with red cushions and colorful walls. The owner says the provocative name was chosen deliberately to stand out in a crowded market and generate free publicity, while assuring customers that hygiene standards are upheld.

Social‑media users quickly shared photos and jokes about the name, dubbing the launch a bold marketing move. Patrons, especially young locals, have begun visiting the venue to snap selfies and enjoy the affordable menu, turning the unusual branding into a draw for foot traffic and online buzz.
