Cockroach Janata Party vows nationwide protests as Rahul Gandhi questions police action on Jantar Mantar demo

After ending a 37‑day protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) said the movement is only beginning. Spokesperson Saurav Das announced plans to travel across India, listen to youth concerns and push for better policies. The party secured the government's acceptance of several demands, including a ₹1 crore compensation for families of students who died related to the NEET exam and the resignation of former education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an explanation for the police use of pellet guns and alleged baton charges during the July 20 march. Gandhi accused the authorities of targeting protesters, citing injuries and alleged targeting of private parts. He signalled that the issue will be raised in the upcoming parliamentary session.
