Delhi hostel collapse sparks calls for safety audits and political criticism

A five-storey hostel building in the Satya Niketan area near Delhi University’s South Campus collapsed, resulting in at least five to six deaths and leaving several people trapped under the debris. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has demanded immediate accountability and a comprehensive safety audit of all paying guest (PG) hostels in Delhi to prevent further tragedies.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke criticized the government for neglecting educational infrastructure, noting that students are forced to live in unsafe conditions. The party also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent use of the term “Dimagi Naxal” during an address at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). CJP leaders argued that instead of labeling the questioning youth, the Prime Minister should address critical issues such as student welfare, employment, and the deteriorating state of educational facilities.
