Cocoteros nightclub in Boca del Río falls into ruin

The legendary Cocoteros nightclub in Boca del Río, Veracruz, which served as a vibrant cultural hub during the 1970s, has fallen into ruin. Once a premier destination for nightlife, the venue functioned as a restaurant, bar, and dance hall.

According to chronicler Ricardo Cañas Montalvo, Cocoteros opened around 1969 in the then-undeveloped Costa Verde area. The establishment gained significant regional fame by hosting major artists, including the renowned singer José José. Today, the site stands abandoned along the coastal boulevard, serving as a silent reminder of its former prominence in the region's social history.
