Codau promotes inclusivity for all Italian universities

During a meeting of the Codau Board hosted by the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, leadership emphasized the importance of recognizing the value of all academic institutions, regardless of their size or geographic location. Pietro Di Benedetto, Vice President of Codau and Director General of the University of L'Aquila, stated that smaller universities often serve as essential drivers for their local territories, providing talent with access to higher education without requiring relocation to major northern hubs.

Antonella Rago, representing non-state universities, noted that the private sector now accounts for approximately 30% of the Italian university landscape, contributing significantly to national research and professional training. The meeting also introduced a new 'itinerant Board' format designed to foster better collaboration and knowledge sharing between different university structures across the country.
