Code Napoleon musical spectacle to depict Weert history
The musical spectacle ‘Code Napoleon’ is scheduled to take place at the Munttheater on April 16, 17, and 18, 2027. The production combines music, singing, and acting to depict a significant period in the local history of Weert.
Inspired by the book ‘Napoleons Europese droom’ by local historian Joost Welten, the performance explores the era of Weert under French rule, specifically focusing on the stories of young men from the region conscripted into the French military. The event serves as the musical conclusion to the 200th-anniversary celebrations of the Zuid-Willemsvaart.
The production is a project of Stichting Rogstad and features the Weert choir Creatura, along with guest musicians from St. Joseph 1880 and various local soloists.
