Codelco announces major executive restructuring and new division managers
Codelco has announced a major executive restructuring following the appointment of Jorge Gómez as Executive President. The changes aim to strengthen safety, stabilize operations, and execute strategies to recover the state-owned company's financial results by combining internal talent with external industry expertise.
Key leadership appointments include:
• Ricardo Weishaupt will become General Manager of the Chuquicamata Division, effective August 15. He previously served as General Manager of the Ventanas Division. • Julio Díaz, formerly Vice President of Mining Resources, Development, and Innovation, will assume the role of General Manager of the El Teniente Division. • Claudio Flores will serve as interim General Manager of the Ventanas Division. • Thomas Gleisner Rivas will serve as interim General Manager of the Ministro Hales Division.
Additionally, the company announced new corporate vice presidencies, including Lindor Quiroga Bugueño as Vice President of Northern Operations and Francisco Carvajal Palacios as Vice President of Central-South Operations. Most appointments are scheduled to take effect on September 1.
