Codelco delivers emergency solar kits to 117 families in Calama

Codelco has delivered emergency photovoltaic kits to 117 families belonging to the Sol del Desierto neighborhood association in Calama, Chile. The initiative provides a sustainable and economical alternative to manage daily electricity needs and serves as a backup during unexpected power outages.

The project was developed in response to community requests following recent service interruptions lasting up to 24 hours. In addition to the equipment delivery, the initiative includes maintenance for the kits during their execution. Rodolfo Bickell, Director of Community Development for Codelco's Northern Operations, stated that the company is committed to improving the quality of life for residents in the areas where it operates.
