Codelco's Gabriela Mistral Division reaches 57% female leadership

The Gabriela Mistral Division (DGM) of Codelco has reached a milestone in gender diversity, with women now making up 57% of its Executive Committee. This shift follows the recent appointment of Camila Albornoz as Operations Manager.

This leadership composition places the division among Codelco’s operations with the highest female representation in key decision-making roles. Currently, women represent approximately 27% of the total workforce at the Gabriela Mistral Division, a figure that ranks among the highest in the Chilean mining industry.

General Manager Claudia Cabrera stated that the initiative aims to incorporate talent at all levels rather than simply meeting numerical targets, emphasizing the goal of building a sustainable and competitive mining operation. Human Resources Manager Paola Ramírez noted that future challenges include increasing female presence in superintendency and other strategic leadership positions to strengthen organizational safety culture through mixed teams.
