Codesal and College of Architects launch contests to plan Salto Grande lake development
Codesal, the development corporation for the Salto Grande lake area, and the regional Northeast branch of the College of Architects of Entre Ríos signed a framework agreement to organise open‑invitation contests for ideas and preliminary projects. The pact was signed by Codesal president Eduardo Horacio Cristina, architect Gastón Grantón and College regional president Soledad Popelka, with support from other institutional officials.
The collaboration aims to steer tourism‑related infrastructure around the lake through transparent, technically rigorous competitions. Participants will be asked to propose sustainable, high‑quality designs that enhance public spaces and support long‑term planning. Cristina highlighted that the lake is “the heart of tourism in the region” and stressed the need for planned, professional development. Popelka described the contests as the most democratic tool for selecting the best architectural proposals, hoping they will bring innovative and environmentally respectful solutions to the Salto Grande shoreline.
