Codroipo: Two doctors reported for sleeping during night shift

Two doctors, aged 27 and 31, have been reported to the Udine Public Prosecutor's Office following an incident at the Codroipo health district's out-of-hours medical facility.

A citizen seeking emergency medical assistance arrived at the clinic and rang the bell repeatedly without receiving a response. After failing to get help, the individual contacted the 112 emergency number.

Responding Carabinieri and firefighters entered the facility, forcing the door after concerns grew that the medical staff might have suffered a health emergency. Upon entering, responders found both doctors asleep in a room located away from the examination areas, which explains why they did not hear the bell.

The doctors face allegations of conspiracy to interrupt a public service.
