Cody Johnson discusses past life as a bull rider

Country music star Cody Johnson shared details about his life prior to his musical success during a 2025 interview on Taste of Country Nights. Johnson, who was a bull rider before achieving fame, described a rough lifestyle where he and his friends would occasionally travel to different towns specifically to engage in fights with other cowboys.

Johnson, known for hits such as ‘Til You Can’t’ and ‘The Painter,’ recently won the ACM Entertainer of the Year award. He noted that his journey through honky-tonks and bull riding stands in stark contrast to his current career, which includes luxury tour buses and professional security.
