Cody Rhodes Talks Break Advice, The Rock Rivalry, and Being WWE's Face
Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champion, discussed several topics on The Ariel Helwani Show. He recalled a brief backstage outburst before WrestleMania 42, saying, "I had a bit of an outburst backstage, ... just me muttering some curse words, like on the 'Christmas Story' and yelling and knocking over some water bottles." Rhodes emphasized his pride in handling the WrestleMania main event and his role in balancing high‑profile personalities.
He addressed the recurring suggestion that he should take a break, noting that "it’s safe to say from the outside, Cody should take a break… but I’m the guy who’s always here." He said his mindset is to remain a constant presence for fans, even if it sometimes feels "expected."
Rhodes also spoke about his unfinished storyline with The Rock, describing it as "a story without an ending" and outlining possible ways it could conclude, either through a Hollywood‑style crossover or a future on‑screen encounter.
Finally, Rhodes declared himself "the face of WWE," while acknowledging other stars such as Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, CM Punk and Liv Morgan as safe choices for that label. He previewed the upcoming Night of Champions event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
