Cody Wyoming Temple begins public open house

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has commenced a public open house for the Cody Wyoming Temple. Following media tours and private sessions for invited guests, free public tours are scheduled from August 27 through September 12, excluding Sundays.

The temple, which will be the Church’s 227th operating temple and Wyoming’s third, is a single-story, 9,950-square-foot structure situated on a nearly 4.7-acre site. Its design incorporates regional motifs, including Romanesque revival architecture and art glass featuring the Indian paintbrush, Wyoming’s state flower.

Elder Clark G. Gilbert of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is scheduled to dedicate the temple on Sunday, October 25. The dedication ceremony will be broadcast to congregations throughout the temple district.
