Coenen brothers MXGP Latvia Kegums double victory championship lead

At the Kegums circuit in Latvia, the Coenen twins dominated the eighth round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship. Lucas Coenen won both MXGP motos, while Sacha Coenen swept both MX2 motos, each posting a perfect 1‑1‑1 score.

Their results gave Lucas a 62‑point lead over Jeffrey Herlings in the MXGP standings and extended Sacha’s MX2 lead to 37 points over Simon Längenfelder. The brothers became the first siblings to achieve 1‑1‑1 in the same Grand Prix weekend.

Dutch rider Kay de Wolf secured second place in MXGP, and Liam Everts scored consistent points in MX2. Several riders suffered crashes, including Maxime Renaux and Andrea Bonacorsi.
