Coesfeld, Germany: Turkish woman fatally stabbed at shelter
A 36-year-old Turkish woman, a mother of three, was fatally stabbed at a municipal shelter in Coesfeld, Germany. Despite emergency medical interventions and CPR, she died at the scene from multiple stab wounds to her upper body.
Police arrested the victim's 43-year-old husband, also a Turkish citizen, in the nearby city of Münster following witness statements. The Münster District Court issued an arrest warrant for the suspect on September 25. Investigators suspect the attack was motivated by the husband's refusal to accept the end of their marriage.
The suspect reportedly has a criminal history involving dangerous injury, physical assault, and trespassing. During previous legal proceedings, the victim had also alleged sexual assault by the suspect. A specialized homicide investigation team has been established to determine the exact circumstances of the crime.
