Coffee Concentrates and Alternative Beverages Offer New Options but Higher Costs
A growing range of ready‑to‑drink coffee concentrates is being marketed to young consumers as a convenient way to make iced or hot coffee at home. Reviews of four major brands – Jacobs, Nescafé, dm and Try Moin – show that while the products are easy to use, the cheapest option still costs about €0.19 per serving, more than double the price of a standard filter coffee. The analysis notes that homemade concentrate from instant coffee can be cheaper.
At the same time, broader trends in non‑coffee drinks highlight creative summer refreshments such as infused water, herbal iced teas, and fruit‑based smoothies, as well as warm winter options like golden milk, chai latte and spiced milks. Fermented beverages such as kombucha are also gaining popularity.
