Coffee consumption linked to cognitive decline and weight management trends

Recent discussions regarding coffee consumption highlight diverse health implications, ranging from weight management supplements to cognitive effects.

Products such as Leanela Slim Coffee and Slimqa Slim Coffee are marketed as dietary aids for weight management. These products typically contain ingredients like green coffee extract, green tea, berberine, L-carnitine, and chromium picolinate. Experts emphasize that these supplements should only serve as a complement to a balanced diet and regular exercise rather than a standalone solution for weight loss.

Regarding cognitive health, a study presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2024 involving approximately 8,500 participants aged over 60 suggests a link between high caffeine intake and cognitive decline. The research indicated that consuming four or more cups of coffee daily was associated with a faster decline in fluid intelligence. In contrast, moderate consumption of one to three cups per day appeared harmless or potentially protective. Interestingly, the study noted that regular tea consumption of at least four cups per day was associated with better fluid intelligence test results compared to non-tea drinkers.
