Coffee industry leaders report growth amid rising commodity costs

Major coffee brands Caffè Lollo and illycaffè are reporting strong financial performance despite rising costs for raw materials and energy.

Dical S. r. l., the owner of the Caffè Lollo brand, reported 2025 revenue of 55.8 million euros, a 15% increase from the previous year. The company's EBITDA more than doubled, growing by 141%. This growth was driven by a 42% increase in large-scale retail distribution and a 51% rise in e-commerce sales. Additionally, the brand saw a 36% increase in exports.

illycaffè CEO Cristina Scocchia announced that the company expects double-digit growth in both revenue and profitability for 2026 following a positive first half of the year. While the company reported a 19% increase in revenue during the first semester across markets including Italy, the United States, and Europe, Scocchia noted that rising green coffee and energy costs are difficult to sustain long-term. While no price increases are planned for the remainder of the year, she indicated that adjustments might be necessary in 2027 if inflationary pressures on logistics and raw materials persist.
