Coffee prices drop sharply in Vietnam and global markets

Coffee prices in Vietnam and on global markets experienced a sharp decline on August 23, 2026. In Vietnam's Central Highlands, domestic prices dropped by approximately 1,500 to 1,700 VND/kg, with trading ranges between 95,500 and 96,500 VND/kg.

Regional price variations in Vietnam include Dak Lak and Gia Lai at 96,200 VND/kg, Lam Dong at 95,700 VND/kg, and Dak Nong at 96,500 VND/kg.

On the international stage, Robusta coffee futures on the London exchange fell significantly, with the September 2026 contract dropping 2.81% to 3,598 USD/ton. Similarly, Arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange saw a reversal, with the September 2026 contract decreasing by 1.33% to 358.75 US cents/lb. While coffee prices faced downward pressure, domestic pepper prices remained stable between 136,000 and 139,000 VND/kg.
