Coffee producers in Colombia and Peru receive international recognition

Coffee producers from Nariño, Colombia, have reached the final stage of the “La Mejor Taza 2026” competition. Thirty finalist coffees, divided into 15 traditional and 15 varietal categories, will participate in an international auction in Pasto on September 26 and 27. The selection process, supported by the Colombian Coffee Excellence Association (ASECC), utilizes blind tastings to identify high-quality sensory lots for national and international buyers.

In Peru, coffee producers from the Ayacucho region received four awards at the International Roasted Coffee Origin Contest held during the Paris Coffee Show in France. The recognized coffees, originating from Santa Rosa and Samugari, represent various producer associations and family enterprises linked to the VRAEM Sostenible project. This initiative supports families transitioning from coca cultivation to sustainable economic activities by strengthening high-value agricultural production.
