Coffee producers in Ecuador and Guatemala gain international exposure

Coffee producers in Ecuador and Guatemala are gaining international visibility through specialized industry events. In Ecuador, the Chunchi-based enterprise El Café del Duende participated as an exhibitor at the International Global Coffee Fair in Quito. As the sole representative from the Chimborazo province, the business presented organic products to international actors and producers to explore new commercialization opportunities.

In Guatemala, coffee from Finca San Miguel Urias in Sacatepéquez will be featured in ‘The Fermentation Project,’ a global tasting event led by British barista James Hoffmann. The project, conducted in collaboration with consultant Lucia Solías, explores how different fermentation processes affect flavor. On October 3, participants from various countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, the Philippines, and France, will join a live sensory experience to taste four types of coffee from the same origin with varying fermentation profiles.
