Coffeenauts announces Ghostless, a post-apocalyptic AI rebellion game

Independent studio Coffeenauts has revealed a trailer for Ghostless, a 2.5D action-adventure and base-building strategy game. Set in an atmospheric post-Soviet dystopia, the game explores an alternative 20th-century history where a cyberattack by the USA during the Cold War caused an experimental Soviet superintelligence to turn against humanity.

Players take on the role of an Envoy tasked with investigating a facility where the AI is developing a new secret weapon. The gameplay involves navigating environments such as sewers, metro tunnels, and Cold War bunkers to collect resources and find survivors. Players must identify and eliminate androids infiltrated among the human population using both melee and ranged weapons to lead a resistance against the collective machine consciousness.

Ghostless is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
