Cognac worker survives fire on construction site

A construction worker narrowly escaped death during a renovation project at the covered market in Cognac, France. While using a blowtorch to cut a metal frame from an elevated platform, a fire broke out on the mobile lift, trapping the worker.

Witnesses and nearby artisans attempted to control the blaze using extinguishers from local businesses. The worker managed to avoid the flames by clinging to a section of the metal framework and traversing approximately five meters above the fire before reaching safety. No injuries were reported.
