Cogne Acciai Speciali negotiations stall over holiday and shutdown disputes

Negotiations regarding an integrative agreement at the Cogne Acciai Speciali plant in Aosta have stalled. Labor unions, including Fim Cisl, Fiom Cgil, Savt, and Uilm Valle d’Aosta, issued a joint statement following a meeting at Confindustria.

The dispute centers on disagreements over holiday scheduling, year-end shutdowns, and the industrial plan for 2027. Unions are specifically contesting how employee hours are managed during plant shutdowns and are seeking compensation for reduced or suspended activity. This follows a previous breakdown in negotiations in July that led to an eight-hour strike.
