Google Cloud and OpenAI expand partnership to offer GPT models
Google Cloud has announced an agreement to integrate OpenAI’s advanced models, including GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6.0 Luna, as well as the Codex coding tool, into its Model Garden. This move makes Google Cloud the only hyperscale cloud provider to offer a single enterprise AI platform featuring access to Gemini, Claude, and GPT models.
In a separate but related expansion of its AI ecosystem, Google Cloud and Cognizant have deepened their partnership through the launch of the Gemini Frontier Capability Group. This initiative involves over 18,000 Cognizant associates dedicated to helping global enterprises transition AI agents from pilot stages to full-scale production. Cognizant has already trained more than 55,000 employees through the ‘Build with Gemini’ workshop.
Additionally, Google has introduced ‘Gemini for Government Services,’ a specialized tool developed in collaboration with U.S. federal and state agencies. Designed to meet FedRAMP High standards, the service allows government entities to deploy AI agents within private cloud environments to handle tasks such as policy research and document redaction while ensuring data remains within secure, domestic boundaries.
