Cognizant expands Frontier AI workforce to 15,000 specialists
Cognizant announced a plan to scale its Frontier‑certified AI talent pool to 5,000 engineers and 10,000 business operators, creating a 15,000‑person workforce capable of delivering measurable enterprise outcomes. The first cohort, assessed and deployment‑ready, is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. The company will bolster the pipeline through annual hires of AI‑native graduates from U.S. and other global universities.
The initiative aims to close the gap between AI capabilities and business value, which Cognizant says is driven more by people and processes than by compute resources. Frontier staff will operate across any cloud or model and will work with partners such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Google, AWS, NVIDIA, Salesforce and ServiceNow. By embedding outcome‑focused talent within client operations, Cognizant seeks to turn AI investments into tangible results while managing risk.
