Cohep calls for unity and confirms holiday schedules in Honduras

The Honduran Council of Private Enterprise (Cohep) has issued guidance regarding national holidays and called for national unity during the 205th anniversary of independence.

Anabel Gallardo, president of Cohep, urged citizens to strengthen unity and rebuild trust to address the country's challenges. She emphasized that celebrating independence should involve a collective commitment to the nation's future, transcending political, economic, and social divisions.

Regarding labor regulations, Cohep confirmed that September 15, 2026, will be an unmovable national holiday for the private sector. Additionally, the organization outlined the schedule for 'Semana Morazánica' in 2026, noting that the rest period for private employees will begin on Wednesday, October 7, at 12:00 PM and conclude on Saturday, October 10, at 12:00 PM. The council noted that companies with collective bargaining agreements must respect the specific terms established in those contracts.
