Health awareness campaigns promote cancer prevention and diabetes management

Various health initiatives across Portugal and Brazil are focusing on disease prevention and healthy lifestyles through community events. In Portugal, the ‘Outubro Rosa’ campaign has mobilized thousands for breast cancer awareness, including the ‘Pequenos Passos, Grandes Gestos’ walks in the Centro region and visits by Sporting athletes to medical facilities in Lisbon. Additionally, local programs in Felgueiras and Águeda are using physical activities like boccia and nature trails to promote well-being.

In Brazil, significant efforts are underway to combat diabetes and breast cancer. The Hospital Estadual Dr. Alberto Rassi (HGG) in Goiânia is organizing the 5th ‘Corrida Colorindo a Vida Sem Diabetes’ to raise awareness about diabetes prevention. Meanwhile, breast cancer awareness is being addressed through diverse activities, including jiu-jitsu training in Belém, inclusive health meetings for women with disabilities in Maringá, and community walks in Maringá and other regions to encourage early diagnosis.
