Coinbase completes integration with Deribit to launch Global Exchange
Coinbase has completed the integration of its International Exchange with Deribit, resulting in the creation of the “Coinbase Global Exchange.” This consolidation unifies spot, perpetuals, dated futures, and options trading under Deribit’s matching engine.
The move is designed to bridge the liquidity gap between U.S. regulated platforms and global derivatives venues. It provides eligible institutional traders, particularly in the United States, with a regulated pathway to access Deribit’s suite of crypto options and margin systems. Coinbase Bermuda Limited (CBBM) serves as the broker and custodian for these accounts, routing orders to Deribit for execution.
CEO Brian Armstrong confirmed the completion of the integration, noting that accounts, positions, and balances were migrated on October 1, 2026. The integration aims to combine liquidity that was previously split across two distinct platforms to offer a more efficient experience for large-scale investors.
