Coinbase and Stablecore partner to bring digital assets to US banks

Coinbase has entered a partnership with Stablecore to integrate digital asset services into the existing infrastructure of thousands of US community banks, regional banks, and credit unions. Through Stablecore’s white-labeled technology, these financial institutions can offer services such as cryptocurrency custody, digital asset trading, and stablecoin payments directly through their current banking interfaces. This approach allows banks to provide modern digital products without the need to overhaul their existing technology stacks.

This move follows other distribution efforts by Coinbase, including a partnership with Moov to bring stablecoin payments to over 1,000 institutions. The strategy aims to embed crypto capabilities into the mainstream banking sector by leveraging established financial relationships.

Separately, BlackRock has emphasized the importance of the ‘singleness of money,’ stating that stablecoins must remain interchangeable with bank deposits and central-bank money to function as regulated settlement assets. Additionally, Coinbase shares recently saw a significant increase following regulatory developments regarding tokenized stocks and a broader rally in the cryptocurrency market.
