Coinbase Global targets Nasdaq direct listing on April 14

Coinbase Global, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, is planning a direct listing on the Nasdaq, with a target date of April 14. The move, which is currently under review by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, follows a previous delay from a March target. The company has indicated a valuation of approximately $68 billion, driven in part by recent private transactions and the surge in Bitcoin prices.

In addition to its public listing efforts, Coinbase is expanding its international footprint and service offerings. The company has entered a partnership with Webull to extend crypto-trading and custody services into Canada. Furthermore, Japan’s Metaplanet has utilized Coinbase Prime for the custody of over 3,200 Bitcoin, valued at roughly $480 million.

On the product side, Coinbase is introducing perpetual futures to its Base app for eligible users. CEO Brian Armstrong has expressed long-term optimism for the sector, projecting that Bitcoin could reach values between $300,000 and $400,000 by 2030, citing increased ETF demand and regulatory developments.
