Coinbase rolls out tokenized stocks, AI advisor and USDC‑backed credit card

Coinbase announced a suite of new products aimed at creating an “Everything Exchange.” The company introduced 1:1‑backed tokenized US stocks that grant on‑chain ownership and automatic dividend payments, initially available outside the United States pending SEC clearance. A USDC‑secured credit card, the Coinbase One Card, lets users borrow against stablecoin collateral instead of traditional credit underwriting.

The update also added a SEC‑registered AI investment advisor that can analyse portfolio data and give natural‑language recommendations, and a “Coinbase for Agents” feature that authorises AI agents to monitor balances, execute trades and make payments on a user’s behalf. Additional offerings include options and derivatives, prediction markets, pre‑IPO trading of private tech firms, and integrated global liquidity pools.

Analyst reactions were mixed but generally supportive. Bernstein kept its buy rating and a $330 price target, citing upside from the expanded product lineup. Rosenblatt Securities reaffirmed a buy rating with a $240 target, while other firms issued a range of targets from $107 to $290. The overall consensus rating remains a hold with a median target around $250. The announcements come as Coinbase seeks to broaden its revenue beyond volatile crypto trading and position itself as a full‑service financial platform.
