Coinbase tokenized stocks reach $20 million weekly volume

Coinbase Institutional is seeing approximately $20 million per week in its tokenized stock business since its recent launch, according to John D’Agostino, head of strategy at Coinbase Institutional. The offering, which launched on August 24 via the Base Layer 2 network, is issued through the Abu Dhabi Global Market and is not available to US persons.

D’Agostino noted that while the figure is growing, competitor Binance maintains a significant lead, with its bStocks products surpassing $1 billion in assets under management following their June debut.

While the specific metric for the $20 million weekly figure—whether it represents trading volume, new tokens, or net deposits—was not defined, the growth reflects increasing demand for US equities in tokenized form, particularly among users unable to access traditional brokerage accounts.
