CoinCash receives Hungary’s first MiCA crypto licence
On 20 July 2026 the Hungarian National Bank issued the first domestic Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCA) licence to Tiwala Solutions Kft, the company operating the cryptocurrency broker CoinCash. The authorisation covers six service categories – custody and administration, exchange of crypto assets for fiat, conversion between crypto assets, investment advice, portfolio management and crypto‑asset transfers – giving CoinCash a broader scope than its previous focus on Bitcoin ATMs and online currency conversion.
The licence marks the first Hungarian‑headquartered firm to complete the full MNB licensing process under the EU’s MiCA framework, a milestone for the national crypto market after many domestic players exited or shifted to foreign licences. CoinCash, founded in 2017, built Hungary’s largest Bitcoin‑ATM network and acquired the MrCoin platform, serving tens of thousands of customers before suspending services in December 2025 due to regulatory uncertainty. With the new licence, the company plans to gradually restart its services, offering a supervised domestic alternative for an estimated 500 000 Hungarian crypto investors.
