CoinMarketCap acquires CoinGlass to consolidate crypto market data

CoinMarketCap has completed the acquisition of CoinGlass, a prominent cryptocurrency analytics platform, for an undisclosed sum. The deal, finalized on September 25, 2026, allows CoinMarketCap to consolidate control over the three primary layers of crypto market data: spot prices, on-chain/DEX markets, and derivatives/positioning.

Through this acquisition, CoinMarketCap—which is owned by the exchange Binance—now integrates CoinGlass’s data regarding open interest, funding rates, liquidations, and options across 28 derivatives venues. This follows previous moves involving Hashtag Capital and the development of DexScan, effectively bringing spot, on-chain, and derivatives data under a single owner.

CoinGlass will continue to operate independently, maintaining its existing website and mobile application. The platform is widely used by traders to monitor leveraged positioning for assets such as Bitcoin, XRP, and Shiba Inu.
