CoinPoker launches $50M Global Online Poker Championship

CoinPoker has launched its Global Online Poker Championship (GOPC), a 37-day festival featuring over 700 events across three regions with a total guaranteed prize pool of $50 million. The series, which runs from August 23 to September 28, includes a $3 million guaranteed Main Event and a $1 million Global Main.

Early winners of the high roller events include Jesse Lonis, who earned $153,400 in the $5,200 High Roller Opening Ceremony, and Ryan Riske, who won nearly $58,000. Other notable early winners include iloveMyHand and BlackJes.

The tournament's opening was marked by technical difficulties. On August 23, connection issues caused significant server disruptions that temporarily halted multiple tournaments. Affected sessions were subsequently restarted, and the platform has addressed the issues while offering compensation for impacted participants.
