COISP requests urgent rain gear for Mobile Unit personnel

The COISP (Interdepartmental Center for Public Order and Security) has formally requested the Department of Public Security to urgently provide uniform rain gear, consisting of jackets and trousers, for all Mobile Unit personnel. The request aims to ensure the health, safety, and adequate working conditions of officers engaged in public order services, who are frequently required to remain outdoors for extended periods during heavy precipitation.

The COISP noted that current winter uniforms are insufficient during intense rain, while summer uniforms offer no adequate protection. The organization cited a specific incident in Bergamo on August 20, where personnel from the 2nd Mobile Unit of Padua were exposed to heavy rain for over two hours. The COISP emphasized that officers should not have to cover institutional equipment deficiencies through personal expense.
