Coité mother arrested after children found alone and neglected

In the Açudinho neighborhood of Coité, two children aged one and two were found alone and in poor condition inside a residence. Local residents reported the incident after hearing the children crying loudly. The children were reportedly hungry and covered in feces.

Following the report, the Military Police and the Tutelar Council arrived at the scene to rescue the minors. The mother was subsequently located at a local bar and arrested in flagrante for suspected abandonment of incapable persons. The children have been placed under the care and supervision of the Tutelar Council while the Civil Police investigate the case.
