Colby Covington critiques Khamzat Chimaev and Carlos Prates

Colby Covington has shared his assessments regarding several high-profile fighters during an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s show. Regarding the UFC welterweight title, Covington dismissed Carlos Prates’ chances against champion Islam Makhachev, predicting that Makhachev would secure a victory through takedowns and submissions. Covington noted that Prates is primarily a striker and suggested that Prates' smoking habit could impact his stamina over five rounds.

Covington also criticized Khamzat Chimaev, labeling him a “quitter” who struggles to handle adversity. He cited Chimaev’s tendency to pull guard during difficult moments as evidence of a lack of wrestling mentality. Looking ahead to their scheduled matchup on November 14 for the cruiserweight crossover title at RAF Abu Dhabi, Covington expressed confidence that he will “break” Chimaev.
