Cold front to end Hungary's heatwave and bring showers

A cold front advancing from the west will move over Hungary on Wednesday, ending the current heatwave. The front will generate showers and thunderstorms, especially in the western, north‑western and some northern regions, with precipitation ranging from 5–10 mm and up to 15–20 mm in localized areas through Thursday.

Temperatures will fall sharply, with western areas around 20 °C while the Great Plain still sees highs of 32–33 °C. The rapid temperature change and accompanying storms are expected to increase health risks such as dizziness, low blood pressure, thrombosis, chest pain, arrhythmias, severe headaches, digestive disturbances, heightened anxiety and poorer sleep quality. Outdoor activities and traffic conditions may also be adversely affected.
