Cold Solutions Rwanda secures $18M for Kigali cold-storage facility

The Africa Go Green Fund (AGG), managed by Cygnum Capital, has finalized an $18 million senior debt facility for Cold Solutions Rwanda. The funding is intended to finance the construction and working capital for a new greenfield cold-storage facility located in the Kigali Prime Economic Zone.

The project aims to address a critical shortage of modern refrigerated transport and storage capacity in Rwanda, which currently contributes to significant post-harvest losses and limits the international marketability of local produce. The new facility will launch with an initial capacity of 4,000 pallets, with the potential to expand to 8,000 pallets.

Operating as a localized platform for the ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, Cold Solutions Rwanda intends to provide an integrated temperature-controlled ecosystem. This includes warehousing, professional refrigeration, and packaging operations to optimize supply-chain efficiency for agricultural and livestock products.
