Cold Storage sci-fi thriller set for January 2027 release

The sci-fi survival thriller ‘Cold Storage’ (Japanese title: ‘Under Storage / Unknown Threat’) is scheduled for release on January 15, 2027. The film is written and adapted by David Koepp, known for his work on ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Spider-Man,’ based on his own novel.

Set in a rented warehouse built on a former US military site in Kansas, the plot follows two night-shift workers who discover a 100% lethal infectious fungus created by a failed space research project. To prevent the threat from reaching the surface and causing human extinction, they must team up with a retired expert.

The cast features Joe Keery, known for ‘Stranger Things,’ as Tikecake; Georgina Campbell, from ‘Barbarian,’ as Naomi; and Liam Neeson as Robert Quinn, a veteran expert dealing with back pain. The film is directed by Johnny Campbell.
