Colíder City Hall to host online chess tournament

The Colíder City Hall, through its Municipal Secretariat of Sport and Leisure, is hosting an online chess tournament this Friday, September 25, starting at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place on the Lichess.org platform.

The competition will follow a five-round Swiss system, featuring rapid matches with a 10-minute time control and a five-second increment per move. The tournament is an absolute category event, open to all ages and genders.

Agnaldo Afonso Pereira, the municipal secretary of sports, noted that the online format allows players to remain active and gain experience from home. Participants can join by requesting entry to the ‘Xadrez Colíder’ community on Lichess.
