Colíder hosts Mato-Grossense Badminton Circuit

The city of Colíder hosted the 4th Mato-Grossense Badminton Circuit from September 4 to 6, attracting 122 athletes from seven different municipalities, including Cuiabá, Lucas do Rio Verde, Cáceres, Juruena, Sorriso, and Vera.

Local athletes from Colíder achieved significant success, securing 12 podium finishes, including two first-place titles. Arthur Alencar won the male beginner category, while Cayo Ayala and Raphael Mendes took first place in the Under-17 men's doubles. Other notable local performances included podium placements in mixed doubles, women's singles, and women's doubles.

Agnaldo Afonso Pereira, the municipal Secretary of Sports and Leisure, noted that hosting a state-level stage provides local players with valuable experience against seasoned competitors. Coach Widson Marçal attributed the results to the ongoing development and training programs established for the sport in the region.
