Colíder municipal works investigated for environmental violations

The Public Ministry of Mato Grosso (MPMT) has launched a civil inquiry to investigate construction works carried out by the Municipality of Colíder in a Permanent Preservation Area (APP). The interventions occurred along the banks of the Jaracatiá River on Avenida do Colonizador Roque Guedes in the city's central region.

Following an inspection, prosecutors identified activities including vegetation removal, earthmoving with hydraulic excavators, soil exposure, and the placement of stones along the riverbanks. Under environmental legislation, interventions in these protected areas require specific legal compliance, environmental licensing, and water resource permits.

Prosecutor Graziella Salina Ferrari has requested that the Municipality submit all relevant environmental licenses, authorizations, executive projects, and technical responsibility notes within 10 business days. The Municipal Secretariat of the Environment and the State Secretariat of the Environment (Sema-MT) have also been called upon to provide administrative procedures and technical reports regarding the works.
