Coldiretti Cuneo requests urgent regional aid for hazelnut sector

Coldiretti Cuneo has requested that the Piedmont Region urgently convene a meeting to address the ongoing crisis in the hazelnut sector. The industry has been heavily impacted by extreme weather conditions during the recent year.

Enrico Nada, President of Coldiretti Cuneo, emphasized the importance of the sector to the local economy, noting that 1,300 companies cultivate approximately 13,000 hectares with a production potential of 140,000 quintals. The association is calling for an extraordinary fund to support the uprooting, replanting, and modernization of hazelnut groves to help businesses regenerate old plantations.
