Oscar Green competition highlights agricultural innovation in Marche

The 19th regional edition of the Oscar Green competition, organized by Coldiretti Giovani Impresa, took place in Civitanova, Marche. The event featured 41 participants showcasing innovation in the agricultural sector, ranging from welfare-oriented models like pet therapy and Alzheimer's support to novel products such as beer-waste energy drinks and dealcoholized wines.

Arianna Bottin, delegate for Coldiretti Giovani Marche, noted that the increasing number of highly qualified young professionals entering the sector is driving more sustainable and innovative agricultural practices. The competition's regulations were updated for this edition, reducing the categories from six to four, alongside two special mentions.

In the '+Impresa' category, which recognizes entrepreneurial vision and resilience, the award was presented to Luca and Emanuele Pedica of Agricolfiorito in Serravalle di Chienti. The Pedica brothers are producers of the Patata Rossa di Colfiorito IGP, maintaining a production of over 3,000 quintals annually and employing 25 people despite previous regional earthquake challenges.
