Cole Anthony makes NBL history in Melbourne United debut

Cole Anthony has made a historic impact in his National Basketball League (NBL) debut for Melbourne United. In his first game, Anthony scored 30 points in just 22 minutes during a 97–95 loss to the Adelaide 36ers. This performance marks the fifth-highest scoring debut in the NBL’s 40-minute era and is the only instance since 1986 that a player has scored 30 points in under 30 minutes in their debut.

Following that narrow loss, Melbourne United secured their first win of the season with an 86-61 victory over the South East Melbourne Phoenix. Anthony contributed 18 points, six assists, five rebounds, and three steals to the win. Chris Goulding added 17 points, while Josh Oduro led the scoring for United with 21 points.
